
Christine Pound

Christine Pound is a corporate and commercial lawyer who advises clients on transactions of all sizes, both domestic and international, as well as their day-to-day operational and governance needs. Her practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, banking and financing, corporate governance, and major infrastructure projects. Known for her practical, solutions-oriented approach, Christine has extensive experience leading teams and managing complex, multi-party transactions.
Christine represents both private and public companies and is well-versed in the unique considerations facing private equity firms and family offices. Her work also includes advising on inbound investment and cross-border financing structures.
A regular presenter on corporate governance matters, Christine provides clients with clear, actionable guidance on directors’ and officers’ obligations, policy interpretation, conflicts of interest, and other governance issues. Her ability to combine technical expertise with practical insight makes her a trusted advisor to clients navigating complex legal and strategic challenges.
Christine holds a B.Sc. from Acadia University and an LL.B. from Dalhousie University. She has also completed the Directors Education Program through the Institute of Corporate Directors/ICD-Rotman and earned the ICD.D designation. Christine is a Trustee or PROREIT, a TSX traded real estate investment trust.
Christine is involved in her community as Chair of the Halifax International Marathon Society, a director of Propel ICT, Chair of the International Womens Forum Canada, Atlantic Chapter and acts as honorary consult for Iceland for Nova Scotia.
