Kris Matthews, FCPA, FCMA, ICD.D, FEA is a partner in Matthews Group LLP, a CPA firm focused on entrepreneurs and their businesses. With more than 35 years of business, governance and financial leadership experience, Kris is recognized for her expertise in management accounting, strategic financial planning, governance and family enterprise advising. She works closely with clients to define their financial goals and develop practical strategies to achieve them.

A Fellow of CPA Canada, Kris has held numerous leadership roles within the accounting profession, including Past-Chair of CMA Alberta and service on the national board. She has contributed extensively to professional standards, ethics, practice review and education, and has served as a judge for the annual CPA Business Competition for university students. Kris has a longstanding commitment to community leadership and volunteerism. Her board and governance experience spans public companies, crown corporations, educational institutions and charitable organizations, including the Famous 5 Foundation and The Edge School for Athletes. She is currently Treasurer of the Calgary Chapter of the International Women’s Forum and has been an active member since 2006, serving on numerous committees and most recently as Finance Chair from 2023–2025.

Recognized as the Business and Professional Women’s Club of Calgary’s first Professional Woman of the Year, Kris brings a thoughtful, collaborative and values-based approach to leadership, governance and mentorship.
