Mary Larson

Director, Strategy

Mary Larson is a Partner (National Strategy and Governance Consulting Lead) with MNP’s Consulting group and is the national leader of the Firm’s Strategy and Governance Practice. She is the national co-leader of MNP’s Environment, Social, Governance (ESG) practice as well, focusing on the strategic and organizational factors that drive sustainability, and has published ICD-sponsored research into board and CEO accountability around ESG and corporate culture.

Mary helps clients clarify and build alignment around their strategies, build leadership capacity and embed cultures that foster outstanding execution. She is particularly focused on working with C-suite executives, CEOs, boards and government leaders. Mary has guided clients from numerous sectors in driving major transformations and has deep expertise in ensuring the effectiveness of institutional governance frameworks.

Mary works with clients ranging from federal and provincial crown corporations to major global companies, post-secondary institutions, industry associations and financial institutions. She has held senior executive positions with McDonald’s Corporation in the U.S. and Alcan in Canada.  She started her career with the Boston Consulting Group in the U.S. and worked in Canada for McKinsey and Co., Oliver Wyman and Kearney.

Outside of MNP, Mary co-founded the International Womens’s Forum in Canada and serves on the Board and Executive Committee.  She is a member of the Advisory Board of Stanford University's Institute for Gender Studies and also is a Board member for Chez Doris, the largest women’s shelter in Quebec.

She earned her BA from Princeton University and her MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
